Lagging Behind

I snatched the photo from here
This is how I feel.

I've been so focused on family stuff, vacations, revisions, etc., that I feel like I've missed the gunshot and everybody else is steaming on ahead of me.

Do you ever feel that way?  Like you just can't catch up with all you've missed?  What do you do in situations like that?

Oh, and apparently some pretty great books have been coming out over the past couple weeks, and I completely missed it.  Please do update me on all this.  I feel so left out.  :)

  1. Don't feel bad :)
I actually feel that way with ARCs/book reviews (I'm doing a blog post about this later today and would love if you stopped by and share your thoughts).
To be honest I don't know what to do as I feel like no matter what I do and how much I catch up, people will always be one (or more) step/s ahead of me.

As for books, I've been so focused on reading that I've missed that too :)

  2. I feel left behind for all the books that have been coming out, too, while I've been revising. Time to catch up, perhaps? I just gotta set some priorities and get the most important things done first...

  3. Yes, I'm so trying to stop picking up novels and finish the one I'm working on. :)That's why I love goodreads. When I see a new one has come out, I just mark it as one I want to read so I don't forget. Then, when it comes time to edit the book I'm writing, I can read through my list of books so I can still maintain some sort of creative juice flowing while editing tries to suck it all out of me. :)

  4. first of all- i would ignore the things that you don't really need to pay attention to. skip some blog posts. only respond to emails that really need it... that kind of thing.

second... hmmmm... i don't really have a second. just saying HI! :)

  7. I take a deep breath and go at my own pace.

You can't expect yourself to do things at other people's speed. You have to do it at the speed you want.

  8. well, this is exactly what all people should have a penguin team like yours truly ;) Or a raccoon team, but I heard they like to eat rubbish, so penguins are better.
