I think I've mentioned on numerous occasions that I am shy. Sometimes cripplingly so. I'm able to function online because I can think through what I want to say, there's a backspace button if I want to take something back, and I don't have to be instantly "on." It's wonderful.
However, the wise and wonderful Kendra Saunders (marketing genius at SHP) thought I needed to break out of my shell and do a radio interview. I wish I could describe my terror to you. And you'd think, me being an author and all, that I'd be able to do it, but there aren't words, dear readers. There are. not. words.
But I did it! Somehow, I managed NOT to sound like an idiot. I know, I'm amazed too. :o
You can check out ipmNation.com (my interview was with Matt Connarton UNLEASHED). I'm not entirely sure if my actual interview is available online right now, but I'll keep checking and let you know.
That is, if you even want to hear my mousy voice. :)
And in other exciting news...
I'M FREE!!!!
Since the beginning of my marriage to my wonderful and gorgeous husband, we have had only one vehicle. Over the years, this has become a nuisance (especially considering we have two children now). But Uncle Sam has graciously given us our money back (in the form of a tax refund) and we bought a 2005 dodge caravan!
I'M FREE!!!!
You have no idea how wonderful it is that I don't have to ask my mom for a ride anymore. And now I'm able to do things every day of the week (instead of just Thursdays)!!
*does little white girl dance* <---lots of elbows
Congrats on the interview, and the freedom. WooHoo!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the second car, Emily!
ReplyDeleteAnd I totally agree with you on the terror of doing a radio show. I've done them too and there's something so weird about speaking in a soundproofed room that makes your own voice sound so much more amplified and powerful. It freaked me out! The weirdest thing was speaking but not knowing if anyone was listening, although tons of people were. So strange!
But it was a rush after I'd done it. So congrats!

Congrats on both the radio interview and getting a second car. It is wonderful having 2 cars, though we've been down to one for several years. We're thinking of buying a second after we finish paying off our current one (less than a year, yippee).
ReplyDeleteYAY for you on both counts! Big deal...both!! :)
ReplyDeleteWoo, congrats on getting a second car! That will definitely liberate you, sounds like!! :) Yay for tax refunds. And congrats too for getting through your interview--glad you did well! Now you know you can do it. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new car!
ReplyDeleteOw! Elbows everywhere. It's like you have five. Congrats on everything! Very exciting to hear about each new step. I would be terrified to be on the radio...it would be like I had five armpits. Disgusting, I know.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all fronts. I couldn't agree with you more re the security the backspace and delete buttons can provide.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I voted!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I just awarded you a Versatile Blog award and TAGGED you in a fun, short writing game. Pop over to my blog to check it out! Catherine
