October Celebrations and Other Fun Things

First, I'm proud to announce that I've been chosen as one of the five finalists in maybe genius's Mash-Up Blogfest!  Voting is underway and there are some great selections to pick from.  So head on over there and pick your favorite!

Did you guys know it's October already??  I'm seriously wondering where Summer went!  I feels like it just started.  *sigh*  Well, that's okay because Fall has some of its own fun and spectacular things...like dressing up! And pumpkins!  And deliciousy* goodness!

So my question for you guys is what kind of fun things do you do in Fall?  Do you go apple picking?  Do you go to harvest festivals and load up on pumpkins to decorate your house?

Well, whatever you do, share with us!  I want to see pictures of your decorated homes and decorated selves!  Yes, that's right.  I'm planning on dressing up as Ella, my MC from ELEMENTAL.  So go out and take those pictures and then email them to me at emilywhite_1112(at)yahoo(dot)com to share with all of us!  And if you don't dress up or otherwise celebrate Halloween, then share pictures of what you DO do.  :D

  2. Sounds like a lot of fun. Generally I spend fall avoiding rain and kicking stacks of leaves.

But luckily it's almost summer here.

  3. Fall is a busy busy time in my world, in October things get going and don't slow down until really February.

In October since I'm a docent at the KC Zoo we have fun activities every weekend, culminating in Boo at the Zoo on the weekend of Halloween. I'll be at the zoo a lot.

We usually take my neices and nephew as a family to a pumpkin patch, hayride, thing that has games, food, fun for all. They love it, and I love spending time with them.

My sister has a Halloween Party for the kids every year that has become the most coveted invite in their elementary school. I help with the decorations, and come over and tell ghost stories. (That's where the idea for Zombie Rabbit came from, but it got way out of hand.)

I hope my new WIP doesn't suffer. I'm going to make time for it no matter what.

  4. Well, I'm not wondering where summer went, that's for sure! Too hot!

Fall is my favourite month. I walk and walk and walk during this time because the air is crisp and the sun is mild and it's hours of fun.

Good luck with the mashup blogfest!

  5. HI EMILY!!! *waves* I'm more than happy to make the move and I'm glad you did it such an efficient way so there were no questions left unanswered! I wish more people would do this!

I'm #39! Almost 40... schucks! Yay for being one of the finalists for the competition on Maybe Genius!!

I love fall! I plan on attending the Renassiance Festival this weekend, my anniversary is tomorrow and writing is in full force! The fall is the best time of the year... oh wait, that's christmas!

  6. Jai--You should come to New York. The Summer is definitely not too hot because it barely lasts long enough for you to notice!

Melissa--How fun! It's been years since I went to the zoo. Actually, I'm kind of protesting my local zoo because they are more about parading animals around for our amusement rather than actually providing them with a home.

Misha--Avoiding rain is always wise. That's something I do as well. :)

  7. Jen--Thanks! :D I tried to make it easier for everyone! I'm glad you think I accomplished that goal. Have fun at the Ren Festival! I had planned on going over the summer, but other things got in the way. And yes, Christmas is definitely the best time of year. Actually, Christmas and Easter (they're my favorite holidays).

  8. Congrats on being a finalist, that's awesome!
Every fall, we go down to one of the local nursery's. They have a big pumpkin festival, corn maze, haunted house, etc. It's always a blast!

  10. Shallee--My husband and I do, too. There's a nursery here that holds a haunted hayride every year and it's pretty fun!

Vic--That sounds like so. much. fun! We should try that at my house!
